Davide Slaviero_building time IV

Hi everyone, so the 13th of September crit has come and gone. This is a follow up of the crit and the changes I have started to implement. i will be posting sections and analytical diagrams as I progress.

Basically:
1_The circulation has been re-worked completely, a circular pattern is dominant now. The pedestrians are picked up off the main bridge and brought into the building. This is an extension of the bridge into the site.

2_The overall footprint of the building has been 'edited' it has been scaled. The south part of the site has been changed drastically, the building that was there is mostly incorporated into the north part of the site. This leaves for open space that is now landscaped.

3_Parking is now off the street edge.

4_General pavements are wider and greater street edge activity is emphasized especially on the south part of the site with the buildings having street fronts on both the front and back sides.

5_The existing bridge that is the main pedestrian route has become an extension into the building, this is done by a ramp and large platform that acts as a linkage between the buildings on the north part of the site.

Ground floor plan
It is very clear from the ground floor plan the 'edited' scaled down building with increased activity on the north part of the site and a decrease on the south part of the site.

First floor plan
The new platform is highlighted in the light yellow with vertical circulation highlighted in yellow, one can see the connection this ramp and platform have with bringing people into the buildings.

Circulation plan
the circulation route is very visible and specific, the pedestrian is picked up off the road and enters into the circular route. The yellow circles indicate points of intensity, this is where pedestrians are picked up or disperse, the bigger the circle the greater the activity.

Photos of model
The circulation is highlighted and this shows how a person using the facility can experience the building.

Davide Slaviero_building time II

Hi everyone. This is my second upload which is a revival of the planning of the building.

This diagram indicates the methods for such artistic expressions in the forms that have been created.

Through the different forms I have played with and experimented with, various types of spaces and scenarios have emerged.

The ongoing process of model building to experiment with.

Davide Slaviero_building time

Hi everyone, this is my first blog on archithesis 2010, I hope you enjoy it and the rest that will follow!

The intertwining-interweaving bands shown on the left hand side(which represent education and technology) is the main concept idea that I have been working with. They sketches on the top right and bottom right show a secondary concept idea of layering and stacking the education with technology.

if it works in the urban context, all shape is fine.
